Two families are of particular importance to the village, being Lords of the Manor and major benefactors to the people.

The Mordaunt family were the  Earls of Peterborough and are buried in Turvey Church.

The Higgins family almost completely rebuilt Turvey in the 19th Century.

Remember you can use the search bar at the top of every page to find people more easily.

If you can not find who you are looking for, try spelling their name in different ways.  In the past the spelling could vary a lot!

Please remember that spellings varied greatly in days gone - if the name you want is not here double check the spelling if you can - they have been lumped together here.  These are all names which appear three or more times in the parish registers.
